Donor Spotlight: Quanta Services

Since 2002, Quanta Services has been a generous supporter of Child Advocates contributing over $140,000 to our Special Events and Special Needs programs. This vital support enabled us to provide specially trained advocates to so many abused children in our community.
 
Quanta Services has always had a goal of giving back to the community.  It is extending opportunity, fostering safety and caring about the overall wellness of youth that Quanta recognizes can be the most impactful. It is what draws Quanta Services to Child Advocates. When asked about the initial decision to begin supporting Child Advocates, Quanta CFO Derrick Jensen said “Child Advocates epitomizes our values when it comes to intervening and helping children who would otherwise get lost in the system.”
 
Quanta has also supported Child Advocates in ways that extend beyond financial contribution, such as volunteering as shoppers at our annual Childspree program. This opportunity allows the volunteer to shop with a child in foster care for back-to-school items. “Some of the best experiences are getting up early on a Saturday morning to go shopping with a child who are thrilled to be able to pick out school clothes which is something many would take for granted. That joy gives us all perspective on the great work that Child Advocates is doing—and reminds us there is always more to do,” said Derrick.
 
Quanta, like Child Advocates, is an organization focused on the long-term. Derrick and his Quanta team know it takes time to build impactful collaborations. “In the same way that we support our customers and put strategies in place for the company, we are committed to our non-profit partners for the long term in order to make real, lasting change. It is the same way a child advocate focuses on recommending what is in the long-term best interest of a child.”
 
We are so incredibly grateful for donors like Quanta Services who are dedicated to the community and recognize the importance of providing life-saving advocacy to foster children in Harris County. Because of Quanta’s generous and lasting support, Houston’s abused children have hope for a brighter future.
