A Magical Afternoon at the Angels of Hope Luncheon

On Thursday, December 5, Child Advocates hosted the 26th annual Angels of Hope Luncheon and Fashion Presentation at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria. Over 350 guests gathered for a dazzling fashion show and shopping exhibition to raise funds and awareness for Houston's abused and neglected children.

This year's luncheon, chaired by Victoria Bryant and Chastiti Horne, featured a Neiman Marcus fashion show spotlighting holiday-ready attire. The show delighted guests with an array of sparkles and sequins with rich colors throughout. Meanwhile, the foyer transformed into a festive marketplace, with nine local boutiques offering everything from custom hats to jewelry, home décor and more. These pop-up shops generously donated 20% of their sales to Child Advocates.

A few lucky attendees also took home exciting raffle prizes, including a $1,000 shopping experience at Saint Bernard in the River Oaks District, a Debra Linse handbag, plus an all-inclusive night out in Houston.

Child Advocates honored six exceptional volunteers: Kathi Davis, Pamela Fazzone, Renee Kariv, Bridgett Matthes, Diane Rifai and Victoria Varner. These dedicated individuals have each served as court-appointed advocates for foster children for over 15 years. Together, they have impacted the lives of 167 children across 81 cases, volunteering over 13,000 hours. The honorees shared heartfelt stories of heartbreak and hope, emphasizing the profound privilege of being a stable presence for children who often have no one else to rely on. Their narratives highlighted the critical role they play in bringing safety, stability, and hope to vulnerable children in the community.

The Angels of Hope Luncheon has become a hallmark event, raising community awareness for Child Advocates' mission while providing a festive start to the holiday season. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, this year's luncheon raised over $270,000, with raffle ticket sales contributing more than $30,000. Child Advocates looks forward to even more successful events in the future.
