This past Saturday, eight Target stores opened extra early all across Houston as more than 500 of Child Advocates kids lined up to shop for back to school clothes. Through our annual Childspree, each child was matched with a personal shopper who helped them pick out brand new uniforms, clothes, shoes and accessories to start the year strong. For many of the children, it was the first time they ever received something new, or had the chance to pick out things to match their own style.
One seven-year-old girl searched for the perfect pair of pink sparkly shoes and first day of school outfit. One fifteen year old boy came fully prepared to pick out each piece of his uniform and was so excited to discover he had more to spend on some fun items. Once they had filled their shopping bags, our kids filled their bellies with breakfast and were given a backpack full of school supplies for the upcoming year. The smiles on their faces made the early morning well worth it!
We are so grateful to our amazing sponsors who made this heartwarming morning possible: CenterPoint Energy, Constellation, The Junior League of Houston, NAI Partners, Quanta Services, Inc., RigNet, Spark Energy, Sunnova Energy Corporation, Twin Eagle and Target. Your support of this event helped our kids start the school year strong!
