Typically, at our annual Childspree program, our volunteer shoppers gather at Houston area Target stores in the early morning to shop with our children for their back to school clothes and shoes. After a wonderful morning, the children leave with a new school wardrobe and a backpack full of the school supplies they'll need for the year.
Due to COVID-19, our annual Childspree program looked different, but we were still committed to ensuring our children had everything they needed to start the school year strong! Thanks to our wonderful donors and sponsors, 466 children had a 'virtual personal shopper' who picked out back-to-school clothes and shoes just for them! Each child will be receiving their clothes and new backpack full of supplies by way of their CPS caseworker at their next visit. Thank you to CPS for their help with distribution!
Now, 466 of Houston's foster children can begin their 2020 school year, whatever it may look like for them, with everything they need to feel confident and prepared.
We are so grateful to our amazing sponsors who made this possible: CenterPoint, Constellation, the Junior League of Houston, NAI Partners, Quanta Services, Spark Energy, Target and Twin Eagle. Your support of this event helped our kids start the school year strong! THANK YOU!
