Every 8 minutes, a child in Texas experiences abuse or neglect. We speak up for abused children who are lost in the system and guide them into safe environments where they can thrive.
Child Advocates is participating in Giving Tuesday on November 30. The event is a global day of generosity that unites people, communities and organizations to thank, help, give and share what they have with those in need. Simply stated, Giving Tuesday shows how much power every single person has to make a difference. On this global day of giving, we invite you to help us speak up for abused children in the Houston area. All of us have the potential to make a difference.
Our goal is to raise $40,000.
We have a $20,000 dollar-for-dollar matchto help us hit our goal twice as fast -- double your impact and consider giving today.
Every dollar we raise has a direct impact on Child Advocates’ mission of mobilizing volunteers to break the vicious cycle of child abuse. At Child Advocates, volunteers are appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of a child in foster care. They serve as the judge’s eyes and ears while the children are in custody, ensuring their unique needs are met until they can safely return home or are permanently placed with a loving relative or adoptive family. In most cases, they’ll be a 'constant' in a child's life during this unstable, and often scary time. Learn more
You – our Child Advocates community – understand how the pandemic has exacerbated the challenges these children were already facing. Through the help of so many, we were able to rise to the challenge. We rolled up our sleeves, like we always do, and gave a voice to 2,051 foster children. Together, we can continue making a difference by providing children an advocate — someone to stand up for them. With an advocate by their side, our children find hope for a brighter future.
None of this is possible without you.

"Nolan couldn't have gotten better adoptive parents. His case opened my eyes to what abused children go through, but it is special to see that there is goodness on the other side."
– Chip, an advocate
“When I first met Philip, he was lying on the floor of his bedroom, curled up in a ball trying to hide… To me, the most important thing I could do was be there, and always keep my word. If we can do just that, it means a whole lot.”
