Ways to Give to Child Advocates

Give as an Individual

Each contribution—large or small—brings us a step closer to serving more abused children in Houston. Each year about one-third of our contributions come from individual donors.

Recurring Gifts
Recurring giving provides a steady source of income for Child Advocates, allowing us to help more children.  Setting up a monthly, quarterly or annual gift is an easy and convenient way to make a difference all year long. You can set up an automatic donation in one of two ways:

  • On our giving page, choose your amount and check the option 'Yes, automatically repeat this gift every month'
OR
  • Log in or contact your bank to set up recurring drafts of your donation, just like you would do for a bill.

For more information, please contact us.

Gifts of Stock
Consider donating appreciated securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds you've held for more than one year) to Child Advocates. By doing so, you may be able to reduce or avoid capital gains taxes and receive a federal income tax charitable deduction. Please reach out to our Development Director for more information.

Honorarium & In Tribute

Consider honoring the birthdays and anniversaries of your loved ones with a gift to Child Advocates in their name. To make a tribute gift, fill out the information on our giving page, and near the bottom select the appropriate options in the 'In Tribute' section. There you will have an opportunity to say who you are honoring and if you would like us to send a note on your behalf.

Memoriam
Keep a friend or loved one's giving spirit alive through a donation in their name. In place of flowers, consider giving to Child Advocates in memory of a loved one. To make a gift in memory of someone, fill out the information on our giving page, and near the bottom select the appropriate options in the 'In Tribute' section. There you will have the opportunity to say who you giving in memory of and if you would like us to send a note on your behalf. For any questions, please feel free to contact us via email or at 713-529-1396.

Matching Gifts

Many employers have matching gifts programs - does yours? Employers will often match any monetary gift an employee makes or make a monetary donation for each volunteer hour the employee gives to the community. See if your company matches.

Facebook Fundraising

Since Child Advocates is a verified Facebook Nonprofit, you can set up a fundraising page through your personal Facebook account and raise funds for our mission. Child Advocates will receive 100% of the donations made through Facebook, and this is a great way to share our cause with your friends and followers.
