ALISHA LINKE RENSHAW
What is your role with the Friends? I volunteer with the membership group and am responsible for keeping up with the database for the directory.
What's life like outside of Child Advocates? I work full time in commercial real estate and live with my husband, 13 year old daughter, three cats and a dog. In addition to the Friends my husband and I are also both active volunteers with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and I am an active member of the Junior League of Houston as well. Can you tell I like to volunteer?! In my free time I like to read, watch movies, travel and spend weekends with my family in the country in Fayetteville, Texas.
Tell us something unique about yourself that others may not know: My husband calls me "rain woman" because I have a good head for numbers and can do most math in my head.
How I became involved with Child Advocates: My aunt was a court appointed advocate and invited me to the holiday party. It was one of the best days I had in a long time and I joined YPC right after that. As I have gotten older my membership with Child Advocates has evolved and I became a member of the Friends in 1999.
The highlight of my experience as member of the Friends: Interacting with the children at the holiday party. I have had many different jobs over the years but last year was one of the best. I volunteered with the Friends painting nails at Ginger's Spa and it was an absolute blast visiting with all the girls.
